Why take Ramki's course on Effective Public Speaking

Attending a course on effective public speaking gives you immediate results than reading a volume of books on the subject.

A course on public speaking cannot be conducted on a 'one-to-one' basis for the simple reason that you need an audience to practice your speech. Attending a course gives you the advantage of having a ready made audience. When you speak, you can observe the reactions and responses from your course-mates who are your audience. In turn, when you are one with the audience, you can observe the speakers who are your course-mates.

Added to this, is the presence of a teacher who will review your performance and guide you.The course material will be discussed in detail to further your knowledge on public speaking.

The ideal strength for a batch should be a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 20.

If each participant talks for five minutes, the
total time required will be 100 minutes. If the
teacher reviews each participant for two minutes, another 40 minutes will be spent.

Then the course material will be discussed in detail for 40 minutes. Hence the total time required will be 180 minutes or three hours per class.

To improve your skills in public speaking, you have to prepare the speech, practice it and deliver the same within a time frame. Keeping
this objective in view, the course will be spread over six Sunday mornings. The convenient time may be 10am to 1pm.

During the week, you will think about your topic, brood over it, collect relevant facts and prepare the speech. You will practice it in your home to gain confidence. Then you will deliver the same on a Sunday morning to an audience who are eager to hear your speech.

You will have an opportunity to do this on five
Sunday mornings. If you involve yourself in the course content, you can certainly groom yourself to be an expert in public speaking within a period of six weeks.

On the seventh Sunday, a competetion will be held to select the best speaker and prizes will be awarded.

To summarise:

Course duration: Six Sunday mornings from 10am to 1pm. Seventh Sunday morning a competition will be held to select the best speaker.

Number of participants: 10 to 20.

Venue: To be arranged by the participants. The ideal venue will be a hall in the Community Centre or a class room in the local school or the seminar hall in an office.
